mark has been drumming for over 40 years and has been active in the dc music scene for over 25 years. He's done it all: marching band. drum corps. rock. jazz. country. latin. klezmer. west african. north african. west asian. drum set. hand drums. percussion. 

from 2014 to the present, mark has been the drummer for the dc instrumental post-punk/prog project Boat Burning. from 2004-2014 mark was the drummer for the dc roots rock band The Road and from 1994-2004 he was the drummer for the dc area alt-acoustic trio Choppin’ Broccoli. among other gigs, he has played djembe (west african hand drum) with the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC, and accompanied Sephardic music specialist Susan Gaeta on dumbek (north african/west asian hand drum).
